payment options
Many insurance companies pay some, if not all, of the services that SCA provides. Please check with your insurance provider to see their policies and what is covered.
Without the hinderance of policies determined by insurance companies, self pay allows the individual to control their own therapy. There are no limits to what counseling you have and how often you can see the counselors. With the freedom of scheduling, you could see the counselor on a daily, weekly or even monthly depending what would work best for you.
Our Church Assistance Program allows a church to customize a plan to help cover professional fees for people they have referred to SCA. There are three easy steps for this program:
1. Getting Started
After determined that a client is eligible, the church refers an eligible client to SCA. The client calls SCA's intake coordinator to inform him of the church referral. The intake coordinator will conduct a telephone interview to assess the client's needs, insurance availability and other key details.
The client meets with the assigned SCA therapist or the first time where the paperwork, including the CAP authorization form, is filled out in advance of this session. SCA's administrative office will fax or mail the CAP authorization form to the church contact person once it is signed by the client.
The church signs and returns the form to the administrative office. This gives SCA and the church written permission to arrange a payment plan specific for that client's counseling fees.
2. Ongoing Treatment
On a regular basis, SCA will mail invoices to the church contact person. The church pays directly to SCA but an insurance company will be billed as well, if applicable.
The SCA therapist and client follow through with scheduled appointments. The client had the option to sign a release of information form allowing consultation between the therapist and the chruch pastor. With this written permission, the therapist will contact the pastor to discuss the client's progress and possible need for additional sessions.
3. Completing Treatment
The Church Assistance Program is completed once all of the church's assigned funds have been utilized. At this point, the therapist and client will decide whether or not to continue treatment. If treatment continues, the client transfers from the CAP program to a new financial arrandment based on insurance converage and other current information.
SCA maintains a donor-supported scholarship fund for low income clients. When a client applies for a scholarship, we verify the need for assistance and set a minimal per-session fee that the client can afford to pay. Scholarship funds pay the remainder of the fee for up to ten sessions.
