Chris Kates MA, LPC, NBCC

Chris Kates is a licensed professional counselor with Southwest Counseling Associates. He received a BA in communication studies from Westmont College. In addition, he received his Masters degree in counseling from Denver Seminary.

Chris incorporates an eclectic blend of therapeutic style and theoretical orientation, including cognitive, behavioral, family systems, integrative, and client-centered philosophies.  He assists each individual or couple in the collaborative establishment and ongoing achievement of powerful, meaningful, relevant goals. Necessary tools, encouragement, support, and structure are provided within the safety of the therapeutic relationship.   

Chris has worked in a variety of clinical settings including a hospital, church, community mental health and private practice. Chris currently resides in Littleton with his wife, daughter and black lab.
