Everyone needs help at times to heal, grow and find direction. To meet this need, Mission Hills Church of Littleton, Colorado, established Southwest Counseling Associates in 1986 as a non-profit extension ministry. SCA maintains its partnership with Mission Hills while pursuing opportunities to work with other churches in the greater Denver area and the Front Range. methods - how we help people SCA uses biblically sound, clinically tested methods, with an emphasis on solution-focused therapy. Treatment builds on the client's unique strengths and positive experiences to produce desired change. We work with clients to assess their needs, to define specific goals and to take practical steps in pursuing their goals. We also help them manage their feelings by choosing healthy thoughts and living consistently with those thoughts. When clients so desire, we help them clarify and strengthen their faith, integrating it with their lives as a whole. We provide professional counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families and groups. Within sound business guidelines we make these services accessible by working with insurance providers, managed care companies and Employee Assistance Programs. what we believe SCA provides the highest quality care to all our clients regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, religion or beliefs. All our therapists are committed, Bible-believing Christians. Our statement of faith summarizes the key beliefs we draw from our understanding of the Bible. (click here to view our Statement of Faith) We do not impose our beliefs on anyone, nor do we reduce all the issues we treat to spiritual problems. We do, however, consider the spiritual part of life as essential as the mental, social and physical parts. So far as the client is willing, we seek to integrate all these parts in the process of healing and growth. Our therapists are qualified to provide Christian counseling to those who request it. Christian counseling uses the Bible as the ultimate source of guidance to resolve the client's questions and to set a standard for living. Above all else, the goal of Christian counseling is a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ. scheduling Male and female therapists are available weekdays and, in some cases, Saturdays. Therapists set their own schedules, meeting with clients as early as 7:00 am and as late as 9:00 pm. New clients can usually schedule an appointment within three days of their first call; emergency clients can schedule an appointment the same day. An emergency pager allows clients in crisis to reach their therapist 24 hours a day, seven days a week. |
