Joel is a graduate of Messiah College with a BA in both family studies and psychology. He received his Master of Social Work from the University of Denver, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the state of Colorado. He is also currently enrolled in the Master of Divinity program with Denver Seminary.
Having provided services for Southwest Counseling Associates since 2000, Joel specializes in assisting individuals facing a variety of issues through the incorporation of direct and goal-oriented techniques. This includes work with mood and anxiety problems such as depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, phobia, post-traumatic stress, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
In addition, Joel has specific background and training with addictive behavior and has provided extensive service to those seeking assistance for various life adjustment issues including grief, relationship problems, divorce recovery, and work difficulties. Along with his work with individuals, Joel takes a special interest in assisting couples seeking solutions through premarital and marital counseling.
